Going to gym reddit I don't. when i first started i couldn’t bench the bar either. But I think 3 to 4 AM is a bit extreme. I change my shoes at work (use shoe spray so they don't smell) run to the gym (10 minutes), change (3 minutes) and do a spin class or barbell training for 30 minutes. Ive been running since my sr yr in high school c/o 01 and havent stopped. I started going to the gym 5-6 days a week and I've been going consistently for the past 10 days. That said, there's normal sleep-dep levels, and then there's "I'm going to puke and/or cry at any moment" sleep-dep. Pretty good day that day. Sure, not that efficient but at least you did 100% more compared to staying home procrastinating. Going to a gym may or may not create an environment where you'll naturally feel like doing more, with resources where you're more effective, enjoying it more, developing a social circle at the gym and increase motivation. You're going to swing around equipment and jump from machines but it's like walking around blind. I’ve been there. Physically: I look great. i’m also hoping to get into the gym to build a healthy habit and as a replacement for an unhealthy relationship with substance use. You wont regret it, trust me. The truth is only very few people in the gym have room to actually judge anyone. Not going to the gym because i feel as though I would stack it like a bag of bricks if I tried to squat but after 3 months I've gotten into a nice routine thats made me itch to go! Reply reply Any time I start a new gym I go and basically do the treadmill for 20 or so min, stairclimber, or other "simple" cardio machines and kind if observe everyone/ everything around me without being creepy and get used to the gym and where things are first, then slowly work my way into the machines that I'm comfortable with or that I've seen someone I work 7. I've gone through periods of gym going but I can never keep it up and stick to it. I am finally getting my health sorted, but I don't have the money to get a gym membership or pay for classes. Otherwise I feel like it's almost useless. Don't think twice. You might gravitate toward doing work in the morning because your brain thinks its easier than going to the gym. The latter, probably don't. This is where micro habits can help. But protein is protein so you can drink it more than once in a day if you want. I usually try to get a good night's sleep if I'm going to the gym the next day. Day one is shoulders and triceps, day two is chest and biceps and day three is legs and back (with variations in there). Where you will see big weight loss quickly is by eating way less and i mean like way way less. Try to go with a friend to get comfortable with it. You can skip the gym for a few days while your body works things out. Take a pwo and sloce of bread n pb before o go and im good to go. Once you get comfortable with that and gain a little muscle back, then try going back to the gym here and there. To make the most efficient use of your time, just find a simple manual and use that to guide you throughout workouts. When I don't go to the gym: I feel relaxed, calm, and I get very deep sleep every night. Just going to the gym with nothing is like going into the woods with no compass. And do it every day or those three days you want to go and just BE there in the gym. More toward the new ones I take 2-3 days off, then make sure its covered, or not going to touch any gym equipment. Cardio and lifting only help with performance, internal health (cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, ect. The personal trainer at my gym said he does two-a-days now, he said he gotta get 3500 calories, so I recommend getting more calories. There was a gym near my house that had an actual theater filled with treadmills and stair masters. My bum never touches the sofa or bed and it's worked for the last 9 months or so. I wear tight-fitting gym clothes under my work clothes on most days so that I don't really have to change. First, go once. I used to hate the gym to help my running but workout by workout i started gaining confidence. There are lots of reasons to go to a gym.
